If your child needs to catch up on shots, look no further than your local fire station or school.

The BlueCross BlueShield Care Van gives free childhood vaccinations to children (birth to 18 years) at many locations each month.

Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Be sure to bring your child's immunization records. The February 2010 locations are:

  • Feb. 11, Sacred Heart, 14307 Hwy. 6, Arcola, 77545, 4-7 p.m.
  • Feb. 17, House of Amos, 8030 Boone Rd. Houston, 77072, 4-7 p.m.
  • Feb. 16, Elsik High 12601 High Star, 77072, 10-1 p.m.
  • Feb. 18, Fire Station #29, 4834 Galveston Rd., Houston, 77064, 4-7 p.m.
  • Feb. 26, Houston-WIC, 13451 I-10 East Houston, 77015
The Care Van gave more than 625,000 immunizations to nearly 384,000 children throughout Texas through April 2009. The van is a program of the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas, Inc.
