Picture yourself at an Astros game with the family. Then picture your 2-year-old wandering off into one of the crowds. Now there is an iPhone app that helps you find your child quickly.

Social Mobility Guardian is a clever new iPhone app created by a couple of Houston parents who also happen to be technically inclined.

Guardian ties into your calendar, reminding you to take a photo of your child before a high-traffic event. Should your little one go missing, you can show everyone near you the photo with exactly what she's wearing that moment.

Guardian also stores details such as height, weight, age and any health issues. If an expanded search becomes necessary, Guardian delivers your child’s information to onsite security or local police, and sends notices to all search participants when your child has been found. I found Guardian very easy to use and even added our cats to the "family" in case they wander off.

Dan Rogas, one of the inventors, says he and his partners recognized that when a child goes missing parents need something to help them during their initial panic when it's hard to remember exactly what your child is wearing.

Guardian sells for $2.99 on the iTunes Store.

Social Mobility, a Houston company, will soon release Social Mobility Responder, an application for law enforcement and security personnel that integrates with Guardian. Guardian application has been endorsed by the Texas Center for the Missing, which issues local Amber Alerts.
